Spunlaced Non-wovens
The spunlacing process involves spraying high-pressure, fine water jets onto one or more layers of fiber webs. This causes the fibers to entangle with one another, thereby reinforcing the web and imparting a certain level of strength.
Thermal Bonded Non-wovens
Thermal bonded non-wovens are produced by incorporating fibrous or powdered hot-melt adhesive materials into a fiber web; the web is then heated to melt the adhesive and subsequently cooled to bond the fibers into a fabric.
Air-laid Non-wovens
Air-laid non-wovens are also known as "dust-free paper" or dry-laid paper-like non-wovens. This process uses air-laying technology to open wood pulp fiberboards into individual fibers, which are then deposited onto a forming screen via an airflow; the resulting web is subsequently reinforced into a fabric.
Wet-laid Non-wovens
In the wet-laid process, fiber raw materials suspended in an aqueous medium are opened into individual fibers and blended to create a fiber slurry. This slurry is transported to a forming mechanism where the fibers form a web in a wet state before being reinforced into a fabric.
Spunbonded Non-wovens
For spunbonded non-wovens, polymers are extruded and stretched to form continuous filaments, which are then laid into a web. The web is subsequently reinforced-using methods such as self-bonding, thermal bonding, chemical bonding, or mechanical consolidation-to transform it into a non-woven fabric.
Melt-blown Non-wovens
The process for melt-blown non-wovens involves: polymer feeding → melt extrusion → fiber formation → fiber cooling → web formation → reinforcement into fabric.
Needle-punched Non-wovens
Needle-punched non-wovens are a type of dry-laid non-woven fabric. This process utilizes the action of needles piercing through the material to reinforce a loose fiber web into a fabric.
Stitch-bonded Non-wovens
Stitch-bonded non-wovens are a type of dry-laid non-woven fabric. The stitch-bonding method uses a warp-knitting loop structure to reinforce fiber webs, yarn layers, non-textile materials (such as plastic sheets or metal foils), or combinations thereof, creating a non-woven fabric.
